Road Tool

The road tools is used to cut roads through a terrain.

The road tool can be used in conjunction with the saved point group functionality to create masks which can then used to create a road surface texture.  For an example, see the saved point group description.

Brush:  The size of the brush affects the number of pixels that are affected when the tool is activated.  Use the circles for a quick change in size.

Straight roads: when running the tool, the user selects two points on the terrain and a straight road is created between them.  The path of the road is highlighted on the 2d view in main editor as a line. The tool will chain subsequent clicks together to form a continuous road section.  To start a new section, restart the road tool.

Height Adjust: specifies how much to alter the terrain beneath the brush by to create the road.

Ramp mode: creates a level ramp between points on the road so that the created road moves smoothly across the landscape.

Smooth Edges:  smoothes the edges of the road into the terrain based on the strength specified in the smooth edges edit box.
